About Us

What We Know
Five billion people around the world lack access to safe and affordable surgical care, most of which can be resolved with access to essential surgical and anaesthesia care.
With Universal Coverage of Essential Surgery (UCES), 1.5 million deaths a year could be prevented. In low to medium income countries, that amounts to 6.5% of all deaths (WHO 2014).
Recent analysis of five African cities reveal lack of surgical equipment for standard procedures. Humanitarian effort from doctors abroad is also limited by the unavailability of necessary surgical equipment.
What we propose
By pooling medical resources, SurgiShare&Care aims to create a Share-Tribe that connects hospitals, physicians, clinics, patients and medical professionals, with the focus of implementing a surgical equipment sharing network.
